McTimoney Chiropractic for Horses and Dogs

McTimoney Chiropractic is a gentle, non-invasive therapy designed to support the musculoskeletal health of horses and dogs. It focuses on the alignment of the spine, pelvis, and joints, helping to restore the natural function of the nervous system and surrounding soft tissues. By addressing imbalances and discomfort, McTimoney Chiropractic helps your animal move more comfortably, improve performance, and maintain long-term wellbeing.

How McTimoney Chiropractic Works

The technique involves precise, gentle adjustments to the spine and joints to correct misalignments and reduce tension in the muscles and soft tissues. Unlike some other chiropractic methods, McTimoney is light, non-invasive, and well tolerated by animals, making it suitable for horses and dogs of all ages and activity levels.

By restoring proper alignment, the treatment helps the nervous system function optimally, which can have a positive impact on movement, posture, and overall health. Each session is tailored to the individual animal, ensuring that care is personalised and effective.

Benefits of McTimoney Chiropractic

Animals receiving regular McTimoney treatments often experience:

  • Reduced pain and stiffness in the back, neck, or limbs

  • Improved mobility and flexibility

  • Enhanced soundness and performance for working or sporting animals

  • Support for rehabilitation from injury

  • Overall wellbeing and comfort

Whether your horse is recovering from an injury, your dog struggles with stiffness or discomfort, or you simply want to maintain your animal’s health, McTimoney Chiropractic can be an effective solution.

What to Expect During a Session

During a consultation, I will assess your animal’s posture, movement, and musculoskeletal health. There will be a dynamic assessment to assess the way the animal moves. I will then perform any adjustments that may be required followed by massage, stretches, and sometimes also the application of red light therapy. I also provide guidance for rehabilitation exercises and ongoing care to support long-term health and mobility, alongside treatment notes and a care plan for in-between sessions.

I work closely with veterinarians and other therapists to ensure comprehensive, collaborative care, so your animal receives the best possible treatment outcomes.
